We have just spent two amazing days with friends at the Avillion Resort, Port Dickson! It has been such a huge blessing to be part of Ingrid and Sam’s wedding along with others from New Zealand and their family and friends from across the globe. There were guests from Australia, South Africa, India, Dubai, Qatar, and of course Malaysia.
Rain almost turned the beach wedding indoors, however at the very last minute it cleared up and Ingrid and Sam were united in marriage in a beautiful sunset ceremony. And, yes – I cried…especially when my dear Ingrid got all choked up when it came time to say her vows. Stupidly, I forgot the tissues.
Ty and I did some background music pre-ceremony including some of Ty’s originals. We played Bubbly by Colbie Caillat as Ingrid arrived in her bicycle rickshaw (driven by her dad) and walked up the aisle. We had a time of worship on the beach and after the pronouncement of husband and wife, and we played Love, Love, Love by Avalanche City (yay – New Zealand music!).
Highlights of the last two days have been:
Midnight swims in the 24hr pool (with thunder and lightning), the awesome accommodation (water chalets that are actually over the water…and when you have a shower you can see the waves underneath and the roof is open so you can see the sky too!), going to sleep listening to the waves, hanging out with friends in another country and creating some awesome memories!
There is so much I could write but I’ll tell you all about it when we get back.
P.S. Our blog posts are a wee bit behind schedule as we’ve been in Cambodia for 2 days now but will you update on the Cambodian stuff soon.
