Tuesday Tunes

Angus & Julia Stone – “Big Jet Plane” (ACOUSTIC FOLK, BLUES – an Australian brother-sister duo from Sydney. Enchanting.)

Audrey Assad – “Blessed Are the Ones” (ALTERNATIVE CCM – not that I like to use the term CCM–Contemporary Christian Music–but I’m not sure what genre Audrey Assad fits into. Let’s just say it’s a new genre called AWESOME.)

Ben Abraham – “Speak” (SINGER SONGWRITER – Ben’s is the kind of music that sings its way into your head, sticks around for a while, and then begins the graceful journey into your heart.)

Ella Fitzgerald – “Hey Jude” (JAZZ – Ella Fitzgerald covers a Beatle tune splendidly! Check it out.)

Eric Whitacre Virtual Choir 2.0 – “Sleep” (CONTEMPORARY CHORAL – do you know what 2,000 voices from 58 different countries sound like? Eric Whitacre does. Breathtaking.)

Fiction Family – “When She’s Near” (INDIE FOLK – this is a musical collaboration between Switchfoot frontman Jon Foreman and Nickel Creek guitarist Sean Watkins.)

Freelance Whales – “Generator 1st Floor” (INDIE ROCK – This is raw…showcasing the pure joy of making music with others.  Love it!)

Graham Colton – “Start Something” (POP ROCK – Hailing from Oklahoma City, Graham Colton has toured with a number of well-known artists including John Mayer, Maroon 5, Dave Matthews Band and Kelly Clarkson. I like his acoustic stuff like this one best.)

Jenn Johnson – “Come to Me” (WORSHIP – Jenn Johnson sings with the Bethel Live band based in Redding, California. This song is a call to come back home to our Heavenly Father. So powerful!)

John Mayer – “Heart of Life”

Karmin – “Price Tag”

Katie Herzig – “Lost and Found”

Kimbra – “Cameo Lover”

Nataly Dawn – “Dying to Live”

Priscilla Ahn – “Dream”

Sara Groves – “He’s Always Been Faithful”
